Amy Goodman & Denis Moynihan: Stories of Uprisings, Occupations, Resistance, & Hope
The Silenced Majority, the new book from pioneers of grass-roots journalism Amy Goodman and Denis Moynihan, gives voice to the ordinary people standing up to corporate and government power—and refusing to be silent.
This event is sold out. A limited number of standby tickets may be available at the door.
Advocates—and pioneers—of grass-roots journalism and grass-roots power, Amy Goodman and Denis Moynihan began the weekly column “Breaking the Sound Barrier” in 2006. And now their new book, The Silenced Majority, again gives voice to the ordinary people standing up to corporate and government power—and refusing to be silent. Pulling back the veil of corporate media reporting to dig into the politics of “climate apartheid,” the implications of the Fukushima nuclear disaster, and the globalization of dissent, Goodman (host and executive producer of “Democracy Now!”) and Moynihan (“Democracy Now!” co-founder) show the power of people to change their media—and the world. Presented as part of the Town Hall Civics series with Elliott Bay Book Company. Series supported by The Boeing Company, the RealNetworks Foundation, and the True/Brown Foundation.
